My Fall Wishlist

Hey guys!

I was supposed to post a review today, but I just started reading The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer and there's no way I can focus on another book at the moment! Actually, I don't think I will be able to do it for a few days. So I thought I'd share with you my fall wishlist - well, my TBR list, since I made this list back in September and I already got some of the books in the meantime.  These are books I'm dying to read, because the blurb is very interesting, they sound refreshing, I heard a lot good things about them, they got a lot of positive awesome reviews, people I trust recommended them,  bloggers with similar book tastes loved them etc etc. I already mentioned most of them in my WoW posts, but having them all together is even better. Basically, they are TBR ASAP, DEARs and OSRs. (Drop-Everything-And-Read, One-Sit-Read). (Phew, that's a lot of acronyms:))) So, here goes:

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer #1)
by Michelle Hodkin
Release Date: September 27th 2011 by Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing

Goodreads
Mara Dyer doesn't think life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.

It can.

She believes there must be more to the accident she can't remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed.

There is.

She doesn't believe that after everything she's been through, she can fall in love.

She's wrong.

As I already mentioned, I just started reading it and... O.M.G.! You know that pre-release hype? It's all true! This books is freaking fantabulous! I'll get back to you with details but... Noah? To DIE for! The dialog? Knees-buckling, heart-melting or rolling-on-the-floor laughing, take your pick. The story? Gives you chills or makes you feel all warm and fuzzy. The writing? AH-MA-ZING! Ok, I'll stop gushing. For now. ;)

Half-Blood (Covenant #1)
by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Release Date: October 18th 2011 by Spencer Hill Press

Goodreads:
The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

Ah, this book! I've been wanting to read it so badly for so long! I stalked the author, entered all the giveaways and contests around the blogosphere hoping I'd get it early, but no such luck. I finally got it when it was available as an ebook (it was only $4 or so on Amazon), but I still want the real book. I read the prequel and I just know that this book is a keeper.

Carrier of the Mark (Carrier Trilogy #1)
by Leigh Fallon
Release Date: October 4th 2011 by HarperTeen

Goodreads:
Their love was meant to be.

When Megan Rosenberg moves to Ireland, everything in her life seems to fall into place. After growing up in America, she's surprised to find herself feeling at home in her new school. She connects with a group of friends, and she is instantly drawn to darkly handsome Adam DeRís.

But Megan is about to discover that her feelings for Adam are tied to a fate that was sealed long ago—and that the passion and power that brought them together could be their ultimate destruction.

Yet another one that's been driving me crazy. Rachel sent me an ARC a few months ago, but thanks to our very efficient postal services, I never received it. Which only added to my frustration, of course! But the book depo shipped my pre-ordered copy early so it should be here any day now.

by Tahereh Mafi

Goodreads
Juliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days. The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don't fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war- and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she's exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

In this electrifying debut, Tahereh Mafi presents a world as riveting as The Hunger Games and a superhero story as thrilling as The X-Men. The Hollows Insider (Rachel Morgan/The Hollows)
by Kim Harrison
Release Date: October 25th 2011 by Harper Voyager

Goodreads:
“The world of the Hollows is fast-moving, funny, harrowing and scary, and—the greatest compliment to a fantasy—absolutely real.”
—Diana Gabaldon

Welcome to the Hollows—Kim Harrison’s remarkable shadow world of vampires, pixies, demons…and one unstoppable bounty hunter witch named Rachel Morgan. The Hollows Insider is your guide through the dark mysteries of this grimly twisted Cincinnati—featuring maps and illustrations, spells and character profiles, and much more, including an all-new Rachel Morgan short story. Fans of New York Times bestseller Harrison will not want to miss The Hollows Insider, a visitor’s handbook to this creepy capital of the urban fantasy universe—on the same alternate globe, perhaps, as Charlaine Harris’s vampire-ridden Louisiana, Jim Butcher’s sinister Chicago, and Patricia Brigg’s shape-shifting Pacific Northwest.

This is one of my all time favorite series, so of course the insider guide is a must have for me! I've heard that it included some glimpses into Trent's mind and I may or may not have a book crush on him, so... Oh, and it's also picture heavy and the cover glows in the dark, so I can't wait to get my hands on it!

Flesh and Blood (House of Comarré #2)
by Kristen Painter
Release Date:  October 25th 2011 by Orbit

Goodreads:

Those born into the comarré life produced blood in rich, pure, powerful abundance...

With the Ring of Sorrows still missing, and the covenant between othernaturals and mortals broken, Chrysabelle and Malkolm’s problems are just beginning. Chrysabelle still owes Malkolm for his help, but fulfilling that debt means returning to Corvinestri, the hidden vampire city where neither is welcome.

I read an ARC of the first book in the series and I loved it; I also love the covers, so this should be another addition to my shelf ASAP!

Drink Deep (Chicagoland Vampires #5)
by Chloe Neill
Release Date: November 1st 2011 by NAL Trade

Goodreads:

Clouds are brewing over Cadogan House, and recently turned vampire Merit can't tell if this is the darkness before the dawn or the calm before the storm. With the city itself in turmoil over paranormals and the state threatening to pass a paranormal registration act, times haven't been this precarious for vampires since they came out of the closet. If only they could lay low for a bit, and let the mortals calm down.
That's when the waters of Lake Michigan suddenly turn pitch black-and things really start getting ugly.

Chicago's mayor insists it's nothing to worry about, but Merit knows only the darkest magic could have woven a spell powerful enough to change the very fabric of nature. She'll have to turn to friends old and new to find out who's behind this, and stop them before it's too late for vampires and humans alike.

The ending of the previous book in the series was so heart breaking! A killer cliffhanger - literally. Enough said.:)

Hmm... These are not all the books on my TBR list for the upcoming months, but they are my most anticipated fall releases. It's getting cold, the days are shorter, so I foresee a lot of staying home, cozy and everything, sitting on the couch reading. :))

Are any of these books on your TBR list as well? Which ones are you most excited about? And if you've already read them, which one was your favorite?

Speaking of getting cozy on the couch, I'm getting back to Noah! reading Mara Dyer. Is it just me, or it's getting hot in here?:)) *dreamy sigh*
