In My Mailbox #11: The 'There's No Such Thing As Too Many Books' Edition

Hey!

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi @ The Story Siren and inspired by Alea @ Pop Culture Junkie, where we share the books we got in the mail the previous week(s).

I got all these books last week, so I'm on a book buying ban now (well, at least until Christmas).

Sorry about the quality of the pics, my phone is not that fancy dandy :P

From the Gaudeamus Book Fair I got:

✓ Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices #1) by Cassandra Clare
(that would be the Romanian edition; I read the book last year and I loved it, so I needed a new hardcover copy for my collection)
✓ Matched by Ally Condie (Legaminte)
✓ Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver (O zi din sapte)

From The Book Depository:

✓ The Hollows Insider by Kim Harrison

✓ Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi

They are GORGEOUS! And some of the best books I got this year!♥ There was a lot of squealing, jumping up and down around the room and book petting involved when they arrived :D

From the used bookstore:

✓ Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead (I already read this series, it's one of my favorites, but I needed the Romanian hardcovers for my collection... I only found 4 books though. Thanks Cristina @ Bibliophile Mystery for book #6!)
✓ The Darkest Powers Trilogy by Kelley Armstrong
(Again, just for my Romanian books collection)
✓ Dead Until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse #1) by Charlaine Harris
I got this one because I'm probably the only paranormal / supernatural books/TV shows lover who's not a fan of True Blood and hasn't read any of the books in the series. So I want to see what's all the fuss about. :D

From authors for review:

✓ Untraceable by S.R. Johannes
✓ Brightest Kind of Darkness (Brightest Kind of Darkness #1) by P.T. Michelle
✓ Sleepers (The Swarm #1) by Megg Jensen
(this is not the final cover, but until the new one is revealed, this will do :P)
✓ Hellsbane (Hellsbane #1) by Paige Cuccaro

Thank you all!

What did you get in your mailbox?

Happy reading!
xoxo

Waiting on Wednesday (6/29)

Hey!

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
Button thanks to Danny @ Bewitched Bookworms

Apparently I've been so busy looking for fantastic debut novels and hoping that I'll find another favorite series, that I forgot to bring into the spotlight the books I was looking forward to the most! Or maybe it's just that obvious that I WANT THEM ASAP!

The Hollows Insider (Rachel Morgan/The Hollows)

by Kim Harrison

October 25th 2011 by Harper Voyager

Goodreads Blurb:

For the first time, Kim Harrison illuminate every aspect of the world that has captured so many followers. The Hollows Insider will feature in-depth, new information on all the characters and settings, an overarching mini-story, maps and illustrations, and Harrison’s own thoughts on how she works her magic.

As wondrous and engaging as the Hollows novels, this is the ultimate guide to the wildly popular series.

Beautifully designed and illustrated, this four-color guide takes readers inside the world of the Hollows as never before, and is sure to be a must-have for every Kim Harrison fan. (points at myself)

Kim is my favorite author, The Hollows is one of my favorite Urban Fantasy series ever (it's also on the EPIC series list;) ) and... need I say more? I want this Hollow's Insider's STAT!

Bloodlines (Bloodlines #1)

by Richelle Mead

August 23rd 2011 by Penguin Young Readers Group

Goodreads blurb:

When alchemist Sydney is ordered into hiding to protect the life of Moroi princess Jill Dragomir, the last place she expects to be sent is a human private school in Palm Springs, California. But at their new school, the drama is only just beginning.

Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Bloodlines explores all the friendship, romance, battles and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive - this time in a part-vampire, part-human setting where the stakes are even higher and everyone's out for blood.

Another favorite author, of course; The Vampire Academy is one of my all times favorite YA series (right there next to The Mortal Instruments and other EPIC series), so... I'm dying to read this one! (still trying to avoid reviews, which is not an easy thing to do, me being a blogger and all, but I really, really want to discover this story on my own; for City of Fallen Angels it didn't work *grunts*)

Supernaturally (Paranormalcy #2)

by Kiersten White

July 26th 2011 by HarperTeen

Goodreads blurb:

Evie finally has the normal life she’s always longed for. But she’s shocked to discover that being ordinary can be . . . kind of boring. Just when Evie starts to long for her days at the International Paranormal Containment Agency, she’s given a chance to work for them again. Desperate for a break from all the normalcy, she agrees.

But as one disastrous mission leads to another, Evie starts to wonder if she made the right choice. And when Evie’s faerie ex-boyfriend Reth appears with devastating revelations about her past, she discovers that there’s a battle brewing between the faerie courts that could throw the whole supernatural world into chaos. The prize in question? Evie herself.

So much for normal.

Paranormalcy was in my Top 5 Favorite Books of 2010, so of course I can't wait to read the sequel! Besides, it seems a bleeping perfect summer read!<3

As a side, personal note, Kiersten was on vacation in Romania last year.*gasp* (hello, no one ever comes to Romania!) She was even here, in Bucharest, (she was like taking pictures in the park right across the street) and I could have just gone to the store down the street and meet her, bribe her for a signed ARC or something (just kidding - almost) but I. HAD. NO. IDEA at the moment. So much for a stalking fangirl! *bangs head on the wall*

Anyway, that's what I'm waiting on this week. What about you?
Happy reading!

Spotted! Succubus Revelead Cover

Hello again!:D

I just couldn't let the day go by without some exciting news:

Richelle Mead revealed today the cover for the sixth and last book in her Georgina Kincaid series: Succubus Revealed. I can't believe this series is coming to an end too! I love Richelle's writing and all her books! So here it is:

I love it! I really like the all blueish note and the contrasts. They really focused on the model's features!:) I think it's so much prettier than the previous covers! What do you think?

Succubus Revealed - Coming August 30, 2011 from Kensington Books

Georgina Kincaid has had an eternity to figure out the opposite sex, but sometimes they still surprise her. Take Seth Mortensen. The man has risked his soul to become Georgina's boyfriend. Still, with Lucifer for a boss, Georgina can't just hang up her killer heels and settle down to domestic bliss. In fact, she's being forced to transfer operations...to Las Vegas.

The City of Sin is a dream gig for a succubus, but Georgina's allies are suspicious. Why are the powers-that-be so eager to get her away from Seattle—-and from Seth? Georgina is one of Hell's most valuable assets, but if there's any way out of the succubus business she plans to take it--no matter how much roadkill she leaves behind. She just hopes the casualties won’t include the one man she’s risking everything for...

Thanks Julia @ Carti-cu-colti for the tip!;)

Also, there were some awesome YA novels released today: Clarity by Kim Harrington, Falling Under by Gwen Hayes. More on that on Sunday's post.;)

Teaser Tuesday (Feb. 22)

Hey!

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I'm currently reading an E-ARC, and because I think it's better not to post teaser sentences from ARCs, today's teaser is from the book I want to read next : Storm Born (Dark Swan #1) by Richelle Mead.

My moment of emotion cost me. In those seconds I'd spent staring at her, I'd lost the last man. I felt a blade at my throat and realized I'd let him sneak up behind me."If you want to live", he said, "drop your weapons and call off your servants". (Storm Born by Richelle Mead, p. 117)

Ok, there is a lot of action and fighting in this book. I'm really curious how that one is going to end. :D

Next books in the series:
Thorn Queen (Dark Swan #2) - July 28th 2009
Iron Crowned (Dark Swan #3) - February 22nd 2011 - as in today, yay!

Sorry I'm a bit late with today's post!
So... what are you currently reading?
