Book Review: Miles and Miles of you by Jennider Bonds

 Hi everyone!

Today I want to recommend you a quick, fun Romantic Comedy book, that is fun, fast paced, engaging and leaves you smiling at the end.

Miles and Miles of You

The Harts Book 1

Goodreads / My Instagram

4.5 stars

Tropes:

🌟 Rom-Com

🌟 Dual POV

🌟 Fast paced and hilarious

🌟 Boss - (ex)Assistant tropes

🌟The Wall of Winnipeg and Me (Mariana Zapata) vibes

🌟 Dedication: "𝑭𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 π’“π’Šπ’”π’Œ π’•π’‚π’Œπ’†π’“π’” 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 π’…π’“π’†π’‚π’Žπ’†π’“π’”."

This book was so much fun, I highly recommend it for a quick, feel good reading escape!

It's the kind of story that leaves you with a silly smile on your face and in a good mood after you finish reading.

Our heroine is sassy, smart, witty and the hero is the perfect sexy, swoony workaholic that is not very connected to the real life as he focuses on his startup company and has an assistent who manages everything else (even his personal life calendar).

So we have:

✔️one over-worked assistant who has had enough of her boss not taking her seriously or not realizing how much she has to deal with on the daily because of him (beside her crush on him obs). So when she's finally had enough and quits, she decides to go on a road trip and be a travel influencer.

✔️A charming, workaholic grumpy (with a side of sunshine) clueless boss, who finally realizes his life is a mess without her coordinating everything and decides to follow her to win her back (to work for him - what were you thinking?🀫). She reluctantly allows him to tag along but she doesn't make it easy for him along the way. 🀭

So we have forced proximity, How To Lose a Guy in 10 days (or a boss, in this case) theatrics, slow burn, grovelling, roadtrip via sketchy places shenanigans, walls coming down, yummy "what are you wearing?" tension and spice.

I breezed through this book in a couple of sittings, the dialogue, setting, adventures and emotions were so well done!

I really loved the trip and what it represented too. It brought a lot of awareness and character development that were inspiring.

🌟Review copy provided by the publisher Entangled Publishing in exchange for my honest opinion.

Have a great week!

I'm so happy to share the beautiful cover of Conjure by Lea Nolan with you all today! Conjure comes out in September at Entangled Publishing - I'm a big fan of their books and gorgeous covers, so I'm very excited about this one!

Here's the scoop:

Conjure (The Hoodoo Apprentice #1)
by Lea Nolan
Release date: September 24th 2012
by Entangled Publishing, LLC
Format: Paperback
Find the author: Website / Twitter

Goodreads:

Be careful what you search for... Sixteen-year-old twins Emma and Jack Guthrie hope for a little summer adventure when they find an eighteenth-century message in a bottle revealing a hidden pirate treasure. With their best friend—and Emma's secret crush—Cooper Beaumont, they discover the treasure, and accidentally unleash an ancient Gullah Hoodoo curse that attacks Jack with the wicked flesh-eating Creep and promises to steal Cooper’s soul on his approaching eighteenth birthday. Determined to save the two people she loves the most, Emma apprentices herself to an elderly sea island hoodoo root doctor who agrees to teach her the magic to undo the hex while she works to unravel the riddle of the pirate’s message. With the clock ticking down to Cooper’s birthday and Jack turning into a walking skeleton, Emma must hone her new skills to conjure visions of the past to discover the curse’s origins, steal an antique ruby, battle a horde of terrifying demon dogs, and summon ancient spirits who can help set things right before it’s too late.

Wow! How interesting and original does all that sound? Hoodoo, old curses, ancient spirits, hidden messages, visions of the past, romance... Sounds like quite a fabulous adventure, don't you think?:D

And I really like the cover! (and not only because it matches my blog design - but how cool is that, anyway?) I like that it has this magical, dark, fantastic feeling to it; I like the colors and the effects. Also, I love the fonts (haha, I love the tiny moon used for the j in Conjure)...

Anyway, enough with my opinions already. Tell me what do YOU think. ;)

For a chance to read this early (you know you want to;)), fill in the Rafflecopter form bellow to enter the giveaway: (they're giving away 5!!! digital copies:)

Waiting on Wednesday (7/11)

Hey guys!

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases we're eagerly anticipating.
*Thanks Danny @ Bewitched Bookworms for the WoW button

(Eeek! I haven't written a WoW post in ... forever! It's good to be back on roll, because through WoW I get to know most of the books I should be on the look out for!)

So, my pick for today is...

Inbetween (Kissed by Death #1)

by Tara A. Fuller

Pub: August 14th 2012
by Entangled Teen
Paperback, 400 pages

Goodreads

Since the car crash that took her father’s life three years ago, Emma’s life has been a freaky—and unending—lesson in caution. Surviving “accidents” has taken priority over being a normal seventeen-year-old, so Emma spends her days taking pictures of life instead of living it. Falling in love with a boy was never part of the plan. Falling for a reaper who makes her chest ache and her head spin? Not an option.

It’s not easy being dead, especially for a reaper in love with a girl fate has put on his list not once, but twice. Finn’s fellow reapers give him hell about spending time with Emma, but Finn couldn’t let her die before, and he’s not about to let her die now. He will protect the girl he loves from the evil he accidentally unleashed, even if it means sacrificing the only thing he has left...his soul.

AAAH! I want to read this book SO BADLY, it's not even funny! It had my attention at 'Kissed by Death' and completely won me over at the 'reaper' mention. REAPER! *faints* If you followed my reviews and rants on goodreads, you know I'm a big fan (as in, obsessed with) reapers, Death, demons, fallen angels, you know, that kind of characters. I mean, you can't go wrong with a reaper - you just can't. They're always hot and fun and dark and dangerous and wicked and intense and exciting and ... Did I mention hot? Besides, I like the premise here, I can't wait to read Emma's story!

So, yeah, I already know this is my kind of book. And I only have one month or so to wait until it's out (I refuse to acknowledge 28th August as the publication date; that's too far away). And I can be patient. Really. I can.

*flails*

Anyways, what are you waiting on this week?

xoxo

Cover Reveal: Onyx (Lux #2) By Jennifer L. Armentrout

Hey guys!

I'm really excited and honored to take part in the Onyx Cover Reveal today! And just you wait till you see how absolutely stunning it is! *bounces up and down*

Onyx is the second book in the Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Obsidian, the first book in the series, comes out on December 6th 2011. I had the opportunity to read an early copy of it and it's super awesome, I'm sure you will love it too!

Ok, enough talk already. Here's what you should know:

Obsidian (Lux #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Release Date: December 6th 2011
Publisher: Entangled Publishing
Available as: e-book, Paperback, 266 pages

Goodreads / Official Website

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

And now...

*drumroll*

OMG! Isn't it GORGEOUS?! I love the blue-ish theme. And how adorable are Katy and Daemon holding hands?<3 I also like that you can still see Daemon's beautiful, eerie eyes. *swoon* Anyway, I LOVE the cover and I can't wait to have both books on my keeper shelf!

Onyx comes out in May 2012,
so it's still early for the full official synopsis,
but here's a sneak peek:

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…

Until then, make sure you grab a shiny copy of Obsidian:

*There are big discounts on B&N for the digital edition and on TBD for the paperback edition;)

So... thoughts?:D

In My Mailbox #11

Hey!

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi @ The Story Siren and inspired by Alea @ Pop Culture Junkie, where we share the books we got in the mail the previous week(s).

Here's what I got in the past couple of weeks:
*Links send to Goodreads

The Shadow Reader (McKenzie Lewis #1) - by Sandy Williams
*I'm currently reading this one and it's super awesome! I'm very picky when it comes to Fae/ faery books (thank you, Fever series) but this one is actually very good!

Flesh and Blood (House of ComarrΓ© #2) by Kristen Painter
*I got the first book in the series, Blood Rights from NetGalley a few weeks ago and I loved it (review to come soon). So of course I had to get the second book as soon as it came out! It wasn't as good as the first one, but I really like the premise and the series overall, so I can't wait to read the next one. Good thing they're released almost back to back!

Hunting Lila (Lila #1) by Sarah Alderson

A Need So Beautiful (A Need So Beautiful #1) by Suzanne Young (audiobook)
Head Rush (The Disillusionists Trilogy #3) by Carolyn Crane (audiobook - I love audible.com!)
*Of course I already listened to it and.... whoa! It was quite a ride! Can't wait to read the book, or the ebook, whichever comes out first!

And a big THANK YOU to NetGalley and HarperCollins! You are the best!<3

Hallowed (Unearthly #2) by Cynthia Hand

Incarnate (Newsoul #1) by Jodi Meadows

Everneath (Everneath #1) by Brodi Ashton

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

Obsidian (Lux #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
*Thank you Entangled Pub!

OMG! I'm so excited about these books! I wasn't expecting them quite so soon *happy dance* and I have no idea what to read first. Suggestions?:D

What did you get in your mailbox?
Happy reading!
