My pick this week:

Release Date: June 12th 2012
by Harper Voyager
Paperback, 400 pages

Goodreads:

He’s a fallen angel. She’s a rockabilly reporter. Together they must solve a deadly string of murders plaguing the mortal and the immortal worlds.

Griffin Shaw used to be a PI, but that was over fifty years ago when gumshoes hoofed the streets . . . and he was still alive. Now he’s a Centurion, an angel who assists other murdered souls through their journey to the afterlife. But while Shaw might be an angel … he’s no saint. Haunted by the mysterious events surrounding his own death, he seizes a chance to wreak some vengeance when he witnesses a deadly attack on journalist Katherine “Kit” Craig.

Joining forces, the unlikely avengers take to the streets, hunting a killer whose trail of bodies stretches across Las Vegas and into an immortal netherworld. It is a dangerous trek that lead them into the darkest corners of Sin City and into the heart of an evil conspiracy extending beyond the lights of the Strip that could destroy them both.

But destruction isn’t the only threat Griffin faces. The closer he gets to Kit, the more he finds himself bewitched by her mortal charms. Can he resist falling under her spell? And does he want to?

Though I haven't finished Vicki Pettersson's Signs of the Zodiac series yet, I always liked her unique writing style, amazing word building and awesome character development. So when I heard she was working on a new series, I became instantly intrigued! And Celestial Blues sounds so good and different from her other series! (it got me with those first three sentences). So... Fallen angels, immortals, netherworld, Vegas (!!!), conspiracies, mysteries, investigations, romance... Mmm, it really sounds like a great new series and I can't wait to read it! Also, how GORGEOUS is that cover? I love it!!! Is it summer 2012 yet?
I so want that dress!

What are you eagerly anticipating this week?

  4. @Jennifer: Thanks! I probably wouldn't have heard about it either if I hadn't been stalking the author on Twitter.:)) And the cover is stunning!

@Jess Yay, I'm glad you're excited about this one too! Maybe we can get a review copy through NetGalley, hehe. *fingers crossed*

@Giselle Haha she writes Urban Fantasy and has a very peculiar style, she's not that popular among bloggers. Besides, her first series already ended, so it's not bad that you haven't heard about it before.:)) But do check it out, she's awesome!

  5. Um, even if I didn't occasionally read Adult titles, I'd drop everything to read this if I had it! Look at the cover, her dress! Vegas + Netherworld = *jaw drops* This sounds so action-packed, thrilling, and I have a feeling there's going to be some intense... bed action *waggles eyebrows*.

Oh, yes please! Have an awesome reading week, Deea!

  6. @Asher I do read adult titles, but only when the story is really, really good and interesting overall, not just the romance part of it. And The Taken seems to be exactly like that! And yeah... Vegas + Netherworld + action + romance? Jaw-dropping indeed!:D

    Thanks, you too!:D

  7. I usually don't comment on reader blogs - bad form, yanno - but I found you via my twitter feed, and I wanted to say thank you - I'm so glad you're anticipating this book!
The back cover copy isn't nailed tight - in truth, it was released early, and was to be for in-house use only, but that's the gist of it. And the question driving the series, and me to write it, is 'Who killed Griffin Shaw?' I just thought it infinitely cool for someone to come back and solve their own murder.
Anyway, thanks again - see you on Twitter!

  8. @Vicki Pettersson Wow, thank you so much for stopping by! I am indeed very excited about your upcoming series! I'm sorry if it was too early to share the blurb, but I figured that if it was up on Goodreads, it would be OK.:) And it is cool and refreshing to have a character trying to solve his own murder, I can't wait to find out how that goes! Thank you again!
