Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:
Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.
Unfortunately, she’s crushing hard on the pure-blooded Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn’t her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck. (Goodreads)
Thanks to modern science, every human being has become a ticking genetic time bomb—males only live to age twenty-five, and females only live to age twenty. In this bleak landscape, young girls are kidnapped and forced into polygamous marriages to keep the population from dying out.
When sixteen-year-old Rhine Ellery is taken by the Gatherers to become a bride, she enters a world of wealth and privilege. Despite her husband Linden's genuine love for her, and a tenuous trust among her sister wives, Rhine has one purpose: to escape—to find her twin brother and go home.
But Rhine has more to contend with than losing her freedom. Linden's eccentric father is bent on finding an antidote to the genetic virus that is getting closer to taking his son, even if it means collecting corpses in order to test his experiments. With the help of Gabriel, a servant Rhine is growing dangerously attracted to, Rhine attempts to break free, in the limted time she has left.I've read mixed reviews about this book (bad idea!), but I'm still excited about it. (I wrote a Waiting on Wednesday post about it a few weeks ago). I LOVE the cover - and the trailer - and the whole idea of the book seems amazing. :D I can't wait to read it and get my own opinion!
I'm really excited for Half Blood and I loved Wither-- give it a chance when you read :)

The love interest is not only forbidden but so wonderful good! I liked that Ms. Armentrout created a relationship that is modifiable to the world she created. So many rules and regulations make this relationship so much more wanted! Just the thought of it being forbidden, made every stolen moment that they took made it so much more addicting!!!
