Waiting on Wednesday (3/30)

Hiya!

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
*Thanks Bewitched Bookworms for the lovely button!

Is it just me, or all the debut novels coming out this year are fantabulous?:D And all the debut authors are uber cool and they do interact with the readers a lot - I love authors that are not 'too busy' to replay tweets or mails or blog comments.<3 So here are another debut novels I'm looking forward to reading - books that also can be chosen for the 2011 Debut Author Challenge hosted by The Story Siren. ;)

Wildefire by Karsten Knight
Pub.: July 26th 2011 by Simon & Schuster

Every flame begins with a spark.
Ashline Wilde is having a rough sophomore year. She’s struggling to find her place as the only Polynesian girl in school, her boyfriend just cheated on her, and now her runaway sister, Eve, has decided to barge back into her life. When Eve’s violent behavior escalates and she does the unthinkable, Ash transfers to a remote private school nestled in California’s redwoods, hoping to put the tragedy behind her. But her fresh start at Blackwood Academy doesn’t go as planned. Just as Ash is beginning to enjoy the perks of her new school—being captain of the tennis team, a steamy romance with a hot, local park ranger—Ash discovers that a group of gods and goddesses have mysteriously enrolled at Blackwood…and she’s one of them. To make matters worse, Eve has resurfaced to haunt Ash, and she’s got some strange abilities of her own. With a war between the gods looming over campus, Ash must master the new fire smoldering within before she clashes with her sister one more time… And when warm and cold fronts collide, there’s guaranteed to be a storm. (Blurb from Goodreads)
Woo hoo, another book with gods/goddesses/ mythology. I can't wait to read it!

Every ghost has a story to tell

The last place Tansy Piper wants to be is stuck in Cedar Canyon, Texas, in the middle of nowhere, with a bunch of small-town kids. But when her mother decides to move to the desolate West Texas town, Tansy has no choice but to go along. Once there, Tansy is immediately drawn to the turret of their rickety old house, a place she soon learns has a disturbing history. But its the strange artifacts she finds in the cellar--a pocket watch, a journal of poetry, and a tiny crystal--that have the most chilling impact on her.

Tansy soon finds that through the lens of her camera, she can become part of a surreal black-and-white world where her life is intertwined with that of mysterious, troubled Henry, who lived in the same house and died decades earlier. It seems their lives are linked by fate and the artifacts she found, but as Tansy begins spending more and more time in the past, her present world starts to fade away. Tansy must untangle herself from Henry's dangerous reality-- before she loses touch with her own life forever. (Blurb from Jennifer Archer's website)

In My Mailbox #1

Hey everyone!

Welcome to my first In My Mailbox! :)
This is a feature hosted by Kristi @ The Story Siren: every week we share the books we got that week: won, purchased, for review or borrowed from the library or friends.
Usually, I don't get that many books, but I just had the BEST. BOOK.WEEK. EVER! and I had to share! *squee!*
So here are the books I got last week:
  •  Bought:

I'm in love with this book! The cover is so much prettier up close and I don't care about the oh-not-so-good reviews of the book, I love it!<3 (Wither is one of the books that can be chosen for the 2011 Debut Author Challenge - hosted by The Story Siren)

Another book for the Debut Author Challenge that I can't wait to read! It sounds so good!

I really want to see what's all the fuss about.;)

And the companion novellas:

Dragon Warrior and  Vampire in Her Mysts

I already read them and wow! They're surprisingly good for dark paranormal romance! Unique, interesting, beautiful stories! And oh, so steamy!:D

***

Dinastiile - Oana Stoica Mujea - this is a Romanian Fantasy series (I think it may be called 'Dynasties' or something like that in English). I've been very, very curious about these books for quite a while. (I haven't read many new Romanian Fantasy books, but I'm going to change that.) This series seems very interesting - it's something about queen wars and elves and magic - and Oana is super cool.:)  I got all of them at a book fair (Final Frontier). As soon as I read them, I'll post my reviews. ;) Oh, and the covers are shiny and pretty as well!

  • Won:

From Nancy Holder via Goodreads First Reads. Thank you!
This book is huge! And I have yet to get the first volume, so it will take a while to get around reading it.

  • Random Act of Kindness

I got this from Amber @ Awesomesauce Book Club - Thank you Amber!!!
Btw, check out her blog, she's uber cool!;)

*I'll tell you more about the R.A.K. program, including my wishlist and all the books I've got later this week, some books are on their way.

  • For review:
From the author - Thank you Dawn!

- Simon & Schuster Galley Grab:

 - NetGalley

Thank you all!

Pheww! I also won some books and I really hope they won't get lost in the ocean again (my packages tend to get lost), because they're signed and everything.*fingers crossed*.
Did I mention it was a good week? Oh, so many books, so little time...

What did you guys get in your mailbox? :)

xoxo

Romanian Bookish Love (#3)

Hey everyone!

I just started reading White Cat (Curse Workers #1) by Holly Black and I realized that she's an amazing author and that I didn't have the chance to read her previous books. I've heard mixed things about them, but but since they're published in Romania too, I'll check them out to see if they are actually good. Anyways, take a look at our covers for The Modern Faerie Tales series:

Source: RaoBooks.Com
There are many editions of this series, but I think these are the original US covers. :)

So what do you guys think about them? Which one do you like?
(They're not that special, but I think they're ok.)

xoxo
