Spotted: The Hollows Series by Kim Harrison to come on CW TV?!

Heya! 

Whoa, how did I miss this?! *hyperventilates*  

It's not official yet, but seems like the CW has bought the rights to Kim Harrison’s The Hollows series (and Cynthia Hand’s Unearthly series). Smallville’s Jordan Hawley has written the script for The Hollows, and serves as executive producer.

Set in an urban fantasy world, Rachel Morgan, a PI witch, works with local law enforcement agencies to combat threats both mundane and supernatural.

The Hollows is my second favorite series EVER (it's what introduced me to adult Urban Fantasy years ago so it will always be special to me) and I know that some of you ladies love it as well, so I wanted to hear your thoughts on this. What do you think about Rachel Morgan getting on the small screen?

When I first heard about it, I got super excited and I practically jumped up and down around the room. And THEN I realized what was happening and I got all nervous. OMG! We're talking Kim Harrison here! What if they mess with my beloved series? What if they do it all wrong? What if they add cheesy romance to it (because we know this series is more about the world, action, character development, world building, mystery, and stuff like that than romance). What if they miss the important stuff and add something unnecessary? What if they change things drastically (CW tends to do that quite a lot *caugh*The Vampire Diaries *caugh*). What if they pick the wrong actors (seriously, who could make any justice to Kisten? Or Trent?! *faints*) And then there's that tone, humour and story telling that's so unique and so Kim Harrison... Really hard to get it right. So, yeah... you get my point: I'm excited and worried at the same time. (Sorry, I tend to get all fangirly and over protective when it comes to my fav characters.LOL) 

Anyway, what do you guys think? ;)

P.S. Actually, I have the same feelings about the Fever series (Karen Marie Moning) being made into movies, but... Let's just not get there now. 

P.P.S. Speaking of The Hollows, did you get the Insider's guide today? I hear it glows in the dark and it has tons of awesome pictures and behind-the-scenes-like info! <3

The Secret Circle - yay or nay? (rambling)

Hello everyone!

All the buzz around CW's upcoming TV show, The Secret Circle, makes me wonder what do you guys think about all this? Are you excited or just rolling your eyes at yet another show based upon LJ Smith's books? Do you think it's going to be better or just living in the shadow of The Vampire Diaries? Or you just don't care about any of the TV shows? Let's discuss! :))

But first, let's recap:

The story: 

Cassie Blake was a happy, normal teenage girl - until her mother Amelia dies in what appears to be a tragic accidental fire. Orphaned and deeply saddened, Cassie moves in with her warm and loving grandmother Jane in the beautiful small town of Chance Harbor, Washington - the town her mother left so many years before - where the residents seem to know more about Cassie than she does about herself. As Cassie gets to know her high school classmates, including sweet-natured Diana and her handsome boyfriend Adam, brooding loner Nick, mean-girl Faye and her sidekick Melissa, strange and frightening things begin to happen. When her new friends explain that they are all descended from powerful witches, and they've been waiting for Cassie to join them and complete a new generation of the Secret Circle, Cassie refuses to believe them - until Adam shows her how to unlock her incredible magical powers. But it's not until Cassie discovers a message from her mother in an old leather-bound book of spells hidden in her mother's childhood bedroom, that she understands her true and dangerous destiny. What Cassie and the others don't yet know is that darker powers are at play, powers that might be linked to the adults in the town, including Diana's father and Faye's mother - and that Cassie's mother's death might not have been an accident.

As for me... Well, I'm really excited about it! The Vampire Diaries (the book series) was my least favorite from all LJ Smith's books and yet, I LOVE the show! (Damon!*swoon* Need I say more?!) But I really enjoyed reading The Secret Circle, so I can't wait to see what they make of it! There are going to be similarities between the two, of course (well, they both have CW's, LJ Smith's and Williamson's signature) but I trust them to do a good job (as long as they don't overdo the teen drama). And I'm not very happy about the actors starring the main characters, but maybe they'll win me over with magnificent acting! LOL
